Jimmy Cefalo is best known as a football player and Emmy award winning broadcaster. But those who know him well think of Jimmy in terms of his passion for wine. The Cefalo family has been involved in the making and selling of wine for the past 150 years. Jimmy’s great grandfather was a wine maker and inn keeper in central Italy. His grandfather came to this country in 1908 carrying a wine press and a dream of building an American family. Michael Cefalo became a coal miner, land owner and wine maker in Northeastern Pennsylvania. One of his 7 sons, Charlie, continued the tradition with a bonded Pennsylvania winery producing Italian varietals until his passing. His brother has taken over the reins from his father. Now, Charlie’s son, Jimmy is keeping the dream alive with Cefalo’s International. Cefalo’s International is a marketing company that provides strategic planning for a select clientele with National/International initiatives.
Currently, Jimmy Cefalo and colleague Brenda Basset star in HCA’s East Florida’s Eat This Drink That Go! Presented by Whole Foods Market. Now in its third year, the show is dedicated to spreading the word about great food, wine, spirits, and travel. The show is owned, hosted, and produced by Jimmy and can be heard live on Clear Channel’s iHeartRadio and WIOD610 AM from 9-10 A.M. every Saturday morning. It also airs on The Beach Channel and now on AT&T U-Verse. Jimmy explains “Our overarching goal with our radio and television show is to provide our audience with interesting information on where to eat, drink and go – thus the name! Brenda and I enjoy finding that hidden gem – that special place, whether it is a locale, travel tips, a recipe, a restaurant, a vineyard, great beverage or spirit – we enjoy sharing that experience with our audience.”
