FOOD RESCUE

SDFW is proud to partner with Chefs Amanda Palomino and Marcus Twilegar in our commitment to becoming a zero food waste festival through the Food Rescue Program, launched in 2024. During Grand Weekend, our Rescue Crew collects surplus ingredients and prepared dishes from participating restaurants and delivers them to the Recovery Zone, where they’re repackaged into meals for San Diego communities in need. To date, over 3000 pounds of food has been rescued and redistributed through local partners including Kitchens For Good, Olivewood Gardens & Learning Center, Mundo Gardens, and Mutual Aid for Moms.
