About

Widely regarded as one of the founding figures of modern Mexican winemaking, Camillo Magoni has spent more than five decades shaping the evolution of Baja California’s wine industry. Born in Italy and trained as an enologist at the prestigious School of Viticulture and Enology in Conegliano, Magoni brought his expertise to Mexico in the 1970s, where he played a pivotal role in establishing Valle de Guadalupe as the country’s premier wine region.

After decades leading winemaking programs for some of Mexico’s most respected wineries, Magoni founded Bodegas Magoni in 2003, creating a family-owned estate dedicated to expressive, terroir-driven wines. Today, the winery is celebrated for producing distinctive varietals that thrive in Baja California’s Mediterranean climate, while continuing the spirit of innovation and craftsmanship that has defined Magoni’s remarkable career.

A mentor to generations of Mexican winemakers, Camillo Magoni remains one of the country’s most respected and influential voices in wine. His lifelong contributions have helped elevate Mexican wine onto the international stage and cemented his legacy as one of the true pioneers of Valle de Guadalupe.
