Jason Keever
Jason Keever first fell in love with wine from the – ahem – consumer perspective. A California native who lived in Europe with his parents, Olga and Bill Keever, and his sister Ashley, wine was simply part of life. When it came time for university, attending college in Germany sounded fun, but going to UCSD sounded way more fun! And there was the strong possibility of palm trees. So San Diego it was. In 2000, Jason Keever received a B.A. in Political Science.
However, in 1999, the big Keevers, Bill and Olga, returned to the United States. After a decade in Europe, they were looking to create a European lifestyle in the US. They found a run down, rattlesnake trap of a horse ranch in the town of Yountville, Napa Valley. They planted two acres of grapes with the intention to sell their fruit and feel cool, like Vintners. Then they got bitten by the Wine Bug. They wanted to make wine. And have a winery. And have it be a family business that could span generations.
In 2002, Jason Keever received a call from his mother, Olga, with an offer to put his prestigious degree in his back pocket and learn a completely new vocation, Wine Production. So, he and his cat drove North to Napa. Thus began a family adventure that continues to this day. Jason Keever has earned additional illustrious pieces of paper from UC Davis that imply he knows something about Wine and the Wine Industry. Occasionally, and for reasons unknown, people ask his opinions on the industry. Unfortunately those are sometimes televised.
