Originally from Los Angeles, Katie Stokes has called San Diego County home for 25 years. She founded the Children’s Museum of Discovery in Escondido in 1999 as a young mother new to the area. Her MA in geography and travels deepened her curiosity about the interconnectivity of the natural world, growing food, home cooking and health. Since 2016, she has owned and published Edible San Diego, a quarterly print publication known for inviting people into a closer relationship with local, seasonal food.
