About
Third-generation grower and first-generation vintner David Mounts spent his life growing up in the vineyards. After graduating from Fresno State University with a degree in Viticulture, David spent six years with Sonoma-Cutrer Winery and Vineyards developing his vineyard skills and learning to crop vines for quality not quantity. With a developing palate for high quality wines, David wanted to apply what he’d learned over the years to his own family’s vineyard, a 140-acre estate in California’s historic Dry Creek Valley. His wife and partner, Lana, had been managing a few small family wineries in Sonoma County. Together, their passion for growing quality-driven wine grapes, and their determination to preserve and sustain the family’s estate, led to the natural transition of producing their own wines, so in 2005 they launched Mounts Family Winery. “Our hope is that you will appreciate the wines we have nurtured from our estate vineyards, share them with friends and family, and take pleasure in every sip.”
